Hi all! In June, Step Forward hosted our final Skills for Progression workshop led by Lisa Zaranyika, focusing on trauma-informed and anti-oppressive leadership. To deepen our understanding, we're sharing this paper with you. 📚✨ 'Trauma-informed Family Contact Practice for Children in Out-of-home Care' This study highlights how trauma-informed approaches are crucial for social workers to ensure relational safety for children in care and facilitate meaningful contact with their birth families. The authors emphasise the significance of training and supervision in translating knowledge to practice and reducing vicarious trauma. While the study focuses on the children's social care sector in New South Wales, Australia, it's a great read for anyone interested in building a trauma-informed practice. 🌍💡
