Take part in research: how do financial pressures on families impact children’s social care? We are looking for professionals to take part in research about families facing persistent financial challenge and the impact on children’s social care. It would involve participation in two discussion groups, taking place in Summer 2024 and Spring 2025. This is part of research being conducted by Kingston University, Sussex University, National Children’s Bureau, and Research in Practice. We are interested to hear from professionals who, as either practitioners or team managers: • work directly with children and families in England who experience persistent concerns about money (financial precarity) • have an interest in sharing their reflections about supporting families experiencing financial precarity and how this impacts referrals to children’s social care • have an interest in the data and information collected about families facing financial precarity and how this is used or shared. We hope to include professionals from different regions of England, and from a range of children's services (including local authorities and Independent Trusts children’s services, and other agencies such as health and education, and third sector services). Please see the attached information sheet for more details.
